In 2006, Mike moved to Plano and immediately set about becoming involved in the community.  Mike chose the city of Plano, over any other, to be his permanent home once he experienced the charm of Plano's history and the incredible people that lived there.

Mike earned a degree in Broadcasting at Southern Illinois University, where he was elected to the Student Senate.

In 2003, Mike began Fox Valley Television (FVTV) which for 17 years served the communities of Plano, Yorkville, Sandwich, and North Aurora.  Mike provided live and recorded coverage of each community's City Council and Village Board meetings which created an unprecedented level of transparency and access to the workings of city government.  As a result, Mike has a deep connection to the leaders of our surrounding communities

During his two terms as 1st Ward Alderman and Chairman of the Economic and Community Development committees, Mike authored Sales Tax rebate and Property Tax abatement policies to encourage new and expanding businesses in Plano.  Mike developed the innovative Façade Improvement Grant program that brought a fresh new look to many existing local businesses.  Mike represents Plano as a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and works directly with retail professionals, developers and community organizations to bring new business to Plano.  His efforts are responsible for bringing the $19.4 million dollar Gjovik Ford project to Plano in 2020.  Mike is a recognized leader who works hard to represent Plano and contributes personally to help out those in need.
